Overview

Fast weapon pressure and strong punishment; linear tools, weak backdash and modest poke damage.

Heat System

Kunimitsu's Heat System in Tekken 8 enhances her offensive capabilities, expanding her pressure and mix-up options. While in Heat, she gains access to additional tools, including an evasive low attack from her Katon stance and a safe launcher. Her Heat Smash can trigger a wall splat and instantly destroy breakable walls, creating further combo opportunities. Heat primarily enhances her ability to put opponents in difficult-to-read situations and punish their responses.

Strengths

Pressure: Flexible extensions discourage careless challenges.Weapons: Many key attacks bypass standard parries.Punishment: Broad answers and fast launch options.Approach: Long-range tools quickly close space.

Weaknesses & Counterplay

Tracking: Key attacks can be stepped.Movement: Weak backdash makes disengaging harder.Complexity: Stance navigation and low poke damage demand consistency.
Game Plan
Kunimitsu excels at using her mobility, evasive tools, and stance transitions to keep opponents guessing. Use her movement and pokes to control space and create openings. Apply pressure through stance mix-ups, alternating between lows, mids, and throws to challenge defensive opponents. Capitalize on whiff punishment and launch opportunities to maximize damage. Use her strong wall carry to push opponents toward the wall, where her pressure becomes more threatening. Activate Heat to strengthen her offense and unlock additional mix-up opportunities. Avoid predictable approaches and use her mobility to reposition when pressure becomes unfavorable.
