Sergei Dragunov – Frame Data

Sergei Dragunov is a relentless rushdown fighter who grinds you down with safe pokes, plus frames, and a complete throw game before opening up for bigger damage. His above-average movement, strong counter-hit strings, and relatively low-execution Sambo toolkit make him an accessible character that rewards fundamentals.

Overview

Heavy plus-frame pressure, damage and throws; linear approaches and limited counter hits.

Heat System

In heat, Dragunov's Sambo style shines with unbreakable tackles and throws from key moves and strings, plus a sabaki (B+3+4:1+2) that reverses punches and removes recoverable health. His best heat tools are the heat smash, 1,2,1, and WS+1+2 for big rewards.

Strengths

Pokes: some of the safest and most effective in the game.Rushdown: strong hitting mids and lows that maintain pressure even on block.Full crouch game: mix with FC DF+1,4 and while-standing moves like WS+3, WS+4, and WS+1.Great movement: above-average backdash make him hard to hit.Good Punishers except for standing i13s: he has a very good i12 and i14.Pigeon Roll: Useful for mix-up in okizeme situations

Weaknesses & Counterplay

Has to win many small interactions, exposing you to getting stepped or counter-hit.Struggles versus evasive characters like Zafina because of inconsistent hitboxes.Tracking is and weak to sidestep right.
Game Plan
Poke with 1, DF+1, and D+2 to chip away safely and build pressure.Use plus-frame moves like WR+2, B+1+2, Qcf+4, and DB+3+4 to maintain pressure and bait whiffs.Confirm 1,2,1 and B+4,2,1 on counter hit to keep control of the round.Enter full crouch and mix FC DF+1,4 with WS+3 to open up defensive opponents.Use your above-average backdash and unusual hitbox to avoid pressure and whiff punish.
Stances
Qcf/Sneak (SNK) — enter: Qcf motion, or from moves like 2,1, b+4,2, f+3, ws+1, 3,1, and fc df+1,4 by inputting df after the command. — Access to a strong mix on hit, especially after 2,1.Pigeon Roll (PGN) — enter: Input 3+4 to roll toward the background or d+3+4 to roll toward the foreground. — Evasive roll with three moves: PGN 2 is a KND-safe mid that hits grounded, PGN 3 is a launch-punishable sweep for 41 damage on clean hit, and PGN 1+2 is a tackle. Letting the animation play out gives access to full crouch and while-standing moves, and it can go under attacks like Hwo df+4 or Bryan 1+2.
